Lobby refurbishment at Shades of Green

Stopped to buy a ticket for Cameron and was surprised to see the lobby had changed.

  1. My daughter Niki wants to stay there (US Coast Guard) at some point.... Have you and Chris stayed there? How are the accomodations?

  2. We've stayed there several times, and the rooms are comparable in size and comforts to a deluxe resort. The standard room has a sofa that converts into a real twin bed. The seat flips over, and there's a mattress. There's a large mini-frig, and the table and chairs has adequate room to be serviceable. My family is ultra picky wanting to stay at condos or FW cabins. We like our space, and everyone is happy at Shades of Green. What you don't get at SOG is Disney theming, but it's a nice, quiet resort that is only a 5 min walk to the monorail station at the Poly. You also have a nice view of fireworks along that walk out by the pond at the entrance. It's a great value for dollar, especially during peak times.

  3. The military rate at other resorts is making it easier to get SOG, but once that is gone, SOG will be booked solid months in advance, so she'll want to plan ahead.
